American Diabetes Association EXPO/Pittsburgh

The American Diabetes Association EXPO will take place on Saturday November 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The event will be hosted by the American Diabetes Association whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the disease. Attendees will have the chance to view health screenings, cooking demonstrations, and product exhibitors. Additionally, numerous leading experts will speak about the methods of dealing with the harmful consequences of diabetes. Come and receive the latest information on preventing and managing diabetes to help keep you and your family healthy.

The Pennsylvania Tourism Office reported to a state House Committee that efforts to market itself as a destination for tourists is falling behind neighboring states due to six years of funding cuts now a $10 million budget being outspent by New York 5-1 and Virginia 3-1. Reporting studies showing Pennsylvania losing 37 million visitors-spending $7.7 billion and over $400 million lost in state tax revenue due to underfunding tourism efforts. The report concluded that an investment in tourism generates more income for the Commonwealth.
