American Diabetes Association EXPO/Pittsburgh
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The American Diabetes Association EXPO will take place on Saturday November 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The event will be hosted by the American Diabetes Association whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the disease. Attendees will have the chance to view health screenings, cooking demonstrations, and product exhibitors. Additionally, numerous leading experts will speak about the methods of dealing with the harmful consequences of diabetes. Come and receive the latest information on preventing and managing diabetes to help keep you and your family healthy.

As participants in this fun program, kids ages 8-9 can learn how to make healthy exercise and food choices, and create their own jump ropes from recycled materials as they celebrate fitness at Phipps.

Over the strong objections of various restaurant and small business associations, Pittsburgh city council adopted a requirement that employers with 15 or more workers offer 5 paid sick days. Companies with fewer than 15 employees must offer 3 unpaid sick days after one year. Some warn the city is exceeding its authority and will be sued in court over the mandate.
