American Diabetes Association EXPO/Pittsburgh
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The American Diabetes Association EXPO will take place on Saturday November 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The event will be hosted by the American Diabetes Association whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the disease. Attendees will have the chance to view health screenings, cooking demonstrations, and product exhibitors. Additionally, numerous leading experts will speak about the methods of dealing with the harmful consequences of diabetes. Come and receive the latest information on preventing and managing diabetes to help keep you and your family healthy.

As participants in this fun program, kids ages 8-9 can learn how to make healthy exercise and food choices, and create their own jump ropes from recycled materials as they celebrate fitness at Phipps.

An agreement worked out by attorneys from all sides and Common Pleas Judge Lawrence O'Toole will allow a group of non-profits, headed by the Pittsburgh Foundation to purchase the financially troubled August Wilson Center. In the process, the 980 Development Group will not develop a hotel at the site, Dollar Bank will get $7.9 million of money that it is owed, and smaller debtors will not be paid. The August Wilson Center will continue to operate as a center for African American Culture under a Foundation Board.
