American Diabetes Association EXPO/Pittsburgh
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The American Diabetes Association EXPO will take place on Saturday November 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The event will be hosted by the American Diabetes Association whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the disease. Attendees will have the chance to view health screenings, cooking demonstrations, and product exhibitors. Additionally, numerous leading experts will speak about the methods of dealing with the harmful consequences of diabetes. Come and receive the latest information on preventing and managing diabetes to help keep you and your family healthy.

As participants in this fun program, kids ages 8-9 can learn how to make healthy exercise and food choices, and create their own jump ropes from recycled materials as they celebrate fitness at Phipps.

The Greek Prime Minister announced last Friday a referendum asking whether to accept the austerity measures imposed by the country’s most recent bailout terms demanded by the International Monetary Fund. A payment of $1.71 billion is due today. The country’s banks were closed Monday and will remain closed until after the referendum. Credit agencies have said that a missed payment would leave the country’s banking sector closer to default and a potential exit from the Eurozone.
