American Diabetes Association EXPO/Pittsburgh
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The American Diabetes Association EXPO will take place on Saturday November 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The event will be hosted by the American Diabetes Association whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the disease. Attendees will have the chance to view health screenings, cooking demonstrations, and product exhibitors. Additionally, numerous leading experts will speak about the methods of dealing with the harmful consequences of diabetes. Come and receive the latest information on preventing and managing diabetes to help keep you and your family healthy.

As participants in this fun program, kids ages 8-9 can learn how to make healthy exercise and food choices, and create their own jump ropes from recycled materials as they celebrate fitness at Phipps.

A bill is before the state Senate which would eliminate school property taxes and replace the revenue by raising the personal income tax from 3 to roughly 5 percent, and raising the state sales tax from 6 to 7 percent while broadening the number of items subject to the tax. Similar legislation came before the Senate in November 2015 and ended in a 24-24 vote with the Lt. Gov. breaking the tie with a no vote.
