Takacs Quartet with Marc-Andre Hamelin
In May, 2012, Gramophone Magazine announced that the Takács Quartet was the only string quartet to be inducted into its first Hall of Fame. Combined with the talent and genius of Marc-Andre Hamelin, who recently received a lifetime achievement prize by the German Record Critic’s Award, this is a concert not to be missed.
Pirate's third basemen Jung Ho Kang was reportedly denied a visa to enter the U.S. after his D.U.I. conviction. Kang arrested three times for DUI in South Korea, was given eight months in prison but the sentence was suspended if he stays out of trouble the next two years. The Pirates placed the 30 year old Kang on a restricted list expecting him to miss at least the start if not the whole 2017 regular season, but he will not be paid or count against the team's rosters.
