Takacs Quartet with Marc-Andre Hamelin
In May, 2012, Gramophone Magazine announced that the Takács Quartet was the only string quartet to be inducted into its first Hall of Fame. Combined with the talent and genius of Marc-Andre Hamelin, who recently received a lifetime achievement prize by the German Record Critic’s Award, this is a concert not to be missed.
U.S. Department of Education gave failing grades to 800 for-profit colleges, 9 in Western Pennsylvania, for not meeting new federal debt-to earnings benchmarks, risking loss of federal financial aid. Academic programs fail if recent graduates' debt payment exceeds 12 percent of their total earnings. Critics call the measures unfair and discriminatory as they are not applied to traditional colleges and universities but signal out vocational schools concentrated in fields traditionally offering lower incomes at the beginning of the career cycle.
