Named the quartet-in-residence at Indiana University's Jacob School of Music in March 2012, the Pacifica was the quartet-in-residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (2009 – 2012) – a position previously held by the Guarneri String Quartet – and received the 2009 Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance.
Last week a Texas federal judge issued a nationwide injunction blocking a new overtime rule expanding eligibility to employees earning up to 47,500 which would include many salaried supervisors and managers. The regulation is heralded as one of the Obama administration's landmark labor policies, but business groups, nonprofits and social service organizations are calling the directive a government overreach costing full time jobs and leaving vacancies unfilled. The delay gives Donald Trump an opportunity to roll back another regulation, key in his plan to stimulate economic growth.
