The state House of Representatives voted with a 2 to 1 margin on dual bills for a constitutional amendment that gives Pennsylvania voters an opportunity to reduce the size of the legislature. The two bills propose reducing the House membership by 50 seats and the Senate by 12 seats. The bills will next move to the Senate, which won't reconvene until 2014. Pennsylvania has the nation's largest full-time legislature, with 203 representatives and 50 senators.
