After a contentious meeting last Thursday Blackhawk School District unanimously voted to table a series of staff and supplemental contract layoffs. Hundreds of Blackhawk students, parents and staff packed the high school auditorium urging the board not to curtail programs and cut teachers but instead to hold off planned construction projects including the building a new sports complex.
