Leap Into S. Patrick's Day with Family Fun at Fifth Avenue Place
This St. Patrick's Day, Fifth Avenue Place is your Downtown Destination! Following the St. Patrick's Day parade, bring the whole family to Fifth Avenue Place and show your Irish spirit with live music, "Lucky Charms" from the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, the cheery face painting leprechaun, or "Putt-for-Prize!" http://www.fifthavenueplacepa.com/fap2/calendar/index2013.shtml
For this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, the city of Pittsburgh will be paying police officers to patrol Market Square. In years past merchants in Market Square paid for off-duty officers to ensure the safety of revelers. Fraternal Order of Police head Mike LaPorte is questioning this policy, saying taxpayer dollars should not be used to pay for a private event.
