Rock & Ride at Southshore Riverfront Park
Saturday, June 15th: 2:00pm-7:00pm Join South Shore Riverfront Park, the URA, Riverlife, The South Side Chamber of Commerce as we host the first ever Rock & Ride! A line-up five local bands and Sky Bar’s DJ Benny Wood will rock your ride while you enjoy local food and drink from Allegheny City Smokehouse, ‘Burgh Bites Food Cart, Bella Christie’s Sweet Truck, the Turner Iced Tea Truck and frosty brews courtesy of AMPD Group. Make your own trail mix with Farm to Table Pittsburgh, and enjoy special trail and family-friendly activities throughout the day. President Trump revoked landmark guidance to public schools letting transgender students to use the bathrooms of their choice, reversing a signature initiative of his predecessor. President Obama last May gave the bathroom directive to public schools for transgender students threatening to withhold funding for schools that did not comply. The Trump administration rescinded those guidelines arguing states and public schools should make their own decisions without federal interference. Transgender legal advocates criticized the states' rights argument, saying it's a civil rights issue under the purview of federal government enforcement.
