The Harlem Quartet: Take the 'A' Train
The Harlem Quartet, a string quartet, will perform music by Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, Billy Strayhorn, Guido Gavilan, and Walter Piston. Join us at 6:30pm for a pre-concert mixer! The Harlem Quartet's mission is to advance diversity in classical music, engaging young and new audiences through the discovery and presentation of varied repertoire that includes works by minority composers.
Cuban President Raul Castro has demanded that the United States hand back its Guantanamo Bay military base before full diplomatic relations between the countries can be restored. Castro also asked for a complete lifting of the decades-old trade embargo and for compensation for its effects, saying that without these changes the recent diplomatic thaw "wouldn't make any sense."
