Pack Your Bags For The Fly Away Bash! Join The Event Group and Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank for a fabulous night of dinner, drinks, dancing and an unforgettable giveaway – all while giving back to the community! On Friday, September 8th the annual Fly Away Bash will be held at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank’s headquarters and the celebration will mark The Event Group’s 30th anniversary. Guests are encouraged to pack a suitcase for a chance to win one of three getaways that will depart at the end of the evening! All proceeds from the celebration will support the Food Bank’s Backpack Program which addresses food insecurity in Pittsburgh by providing healthy food and snacks to children who may otherwise not have enough to eat over the weekend. Gettysburg is site of the bloodiest battle in the war between the Union and Confederacy. 1,325 monuments, markers, and plaques, commemorate and memorialize the 46,000 soldiers who died during the battle at Gettysburg. Officials with the National Park Service said the Confederate monuments will NOT be removed from the battlefield, stating that they are committed to safe guarding these unique and site-specific memorials in perpetuity.
