On Tuesday a black officer from the Charlotte Police Department killed a 43 year old black man outside an apartment complex. The black officer, who has been placed on administrative leave, said the victim had a handgun as he got out of a vehicle, the family claims he was holding a book. The Chief of Police Charlotte after viewing footage from the shooting said "there is not definitive visual evidence that would confirm a person is pointing a gun"
